About the Boathouse

Changes at the Boathouse!

Good news, everyone! The new boathouse is being brought in on Friday!

From the Port of Toledo:
New Boathouse Arrival
The Port of Toledo will be welcoming its new boathouse at the Marina on May 12, at 2:00 pm. We invite everyone to come down to Waterfront Park to celebrate its arrival. It will be delivered by tug from the Port's boatyard and will be accompanied by the "Old Retired Guys" that built it, Port crew, and with Paul Bogaard & friends aboard playing live music.

This boathouse will be used as a floating classroom for kayak and sailing camps by Oregon Boating Foundation and will provide additional space for Toledo Community Boathouse activities. The original Toledo Community Boathouse was built with grant funding from Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund as well as a Lincoln County Community Development Grant and contains a full wood shop which has produced over 70 small boats.

The new boathouse was built using recycled materials as much as possible, with the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund providing funds to help purchase the new materials needed for this project.

We would like to thank the "Old Retired Guys" who volunteered their time and talents to construct this boathouse, and also thank the Siletz Tribe for their generous support.
